Nine vineyards, five varieties, uncountable hand harvests. That’s this aszú in numbers. The dry and warm summer and the wet October brought along a genuine and very much anticipated aszú year in Tokaj. Even though it falls behind in terms of sugar compared to the great classics (such as the 1999 and 2006 vintages), elegant and subtly spicy sweet wines were born this year. Residual sugar of 115 grams, lovely and ripe acids, tons of forest honey, pear, apricot and linden flower. Long and elegant.
